straight talk:
A cucoloris (or cookie) is a flat panel, usually of plywood, cut with a pattern. When
placed in front of a light, that pattern is projected onto the set.
You may purchase/rent a cucoloris made of wood or metal, or make your own
out of a handy piece of foam core.
Alternatively, you might consider the use of
an ellipsoidal spot and gobo.
