Car Mount Systems

"Tinker-toy" Car Mount System

features:

  • This system has held Varicams, Sony CineAlta's, ARRI SR's, and a Viper Filmstream.

  • Using a variety of suction cups, camera platforms, clamps, rods, and pins, you can build any rig you can imagine to safely secure a camera or lighting instrument to a vehicle.

  • If one suction cup fails, other cups keep the rig secured to vehicle.

  • Web ratchet straps add an additional layer of security.

straight-talk:

  • This system prefers a smooth finish with which to create an air-tight seal underneath the suction cups.  It also works great on vehicles with damaged finishes by using additional ratchet straps.  I'll help design a rig for your picture car.  Just give me a call. - Michael

Light-weight Car Mount
a single-point mounting system for smaller video cameras up to 11 pounds

3028 head shown with suction cup

Bogen 3028 Camera Mount with 3/8"-16 female thread and Woods 6" suction cup

day-rate

features:

o self-adjusting conical bearing locking system
o 360° rotation on both the vertical and horizontal plane
o 3/8"-16 female thread in base mounts to other camera plates
o mounts to the Woods 6" suction cup for car mount applications
o 11 pound capacity

straight-talk:
The 3028 is great for quick car-mount setups with lightweight camcorders up to 11 pounds.  However, if the head will be subject to heavy stress from fast moves and rough roads, add ratchet straps or, even better, upgrade your mounting system to a larger rig with multiple suction cups, grip heads, rods, ratchet straps, and the mini ball camera plate.
