straight-talk:
This is a no-frills strobe light designed for entertainment venues. It
can be used for film and video acquisition as well but should be tested with
your acquisition camera to assure predictable results.
using non-syncro strobes with film cameras:
- expect to capture 50% of the flashes with a 180-degree shutter
- expect the possibility of catching the shutter edge in the frame
using non-syncro strobes with video cameras:
- expect to capture 50% of the flashes with a 1/60 second shutter
- expect flashes to only appear in one field on interlaced video
- expect vertical smears on shiny objects with CCD cameras
